Sunday July 4th.

Friday we went to the beach. It was about one and a half hour drive. We went to Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware. The weather was perfect and the kids enjoyed the water but the water was pretty cold still and they spent a lot of time making sand castles and exploring the beach and stuff. We climbed one of the look out towers left over from WWII and enjoyed the view of the ocean and the beaches. The sky was a beautiful blue. We went to the "Grotto Pizza" for dinner. It was very good pizza as usual. After that we went to the Shell Shop and looked around for a long time. We got home about 1030 pm.

Saturday was a hard day at work since a lot of shoppers were coming to the market to buy for the holiday.

After work some friends from long ago came to visit and see Carolyn. It was a treat to catch up on old times. We barbecued and talked on the deck. There were a lot of surprising news about Friends I had not seen in a long time. Linda one who visited had never seen a lighting bug since she was from California so we went for a long walk in the evening to one of the lakes, (Wilde lake), and she caught some fireflies just like a little kid would.

Sunday, was the 4th of July. Our community has a parade near by so we went to watch it. We got there about a half hour early and waited and waited. There were crowds all around us all waiting. The parade was short this year. We saw fire trucks and the local boy scouts some politicians and would be elected officials. Some charities were driving in cars that were decorated. There was one truck with a band playing in the back. I think there are more parades in the area this year so those people who would be in them are spread out farther.

The afternoon Tim, Joey, Maddy and I went to the health club and played racket ball. We had a lot of fun and at times were laughing so hard that we couldn't hit the ball with our rackets. We played for about an hour and a quarter then the club was getting ready to close early for the holiday.

This evening we went to see the fireworks at the lake, (Lake Kittimundi), by the mall. The fireworks are attended by untold thousands. It is the talk of the city for days to come. There was no parking even at the mall so we parked at a high school about a half mile away and walked to the lake. We found a good spot and waited, it was fun to all be together. The fireworks were exciting. They were many types and colors. The show lasted about 20 minutes. Well, we walked with the sea of people thorough the parking lot, tens of thousands of people walking around thousands of cars idling their motors waiting for a chance to go.

Well We are home now everybody is watching TV except me since I don't really like the TV and soon it will be time to go to bed.
