Wednesday June 30. Catching up.

I do not remember the last time I updated this project. It is not for lack of things to be thankful about.

We are still waiting for the insurance company to decide what is going to happen about the van. It is drivable but not pretty. I thank the Lord that no one was hurt and the damages were mostly cosmetic, but there is some question about coverage since Joey was driving on his permit and not fully licenced and we had not gotten around to letting them know he would be driving it. Well, God is in control.

Carolyn is feeling well enough to go to the oncologist by herself today and after that she has a free acupuncture treatment. We are thankful for the many kindnesses we have experienced during this time from friends and church and the various organizations. The free acupuncture is just one of many blessings we see God bringing this way.

Though Timmy is officially out of work some odd things are coming his way. One kid at church may be taking piano lessons from Him. The kid's brother will be taking guitar lessons from Joey. I am very proud of the talented kids the Lord has given us.

Carolyn met with the county social services about getting adult services for David. They judged he qualified for services since he has autism (moderately). They are trying to place him in a workplace part time for his senior year and then are offering transition services after that. It is very confusing and complicated but the Lord will provide.

I did not like to work on Sunday afternoon and worked very hard in the receiving and stock department at the store. I am not used to it and was tired for a few days. But when the corporate executives came to inspect the store they gave us good marks and our manager personally gave me some praise since they complimented the store on a project I had worked on. They made this point in a meeting in front 30 other store managers, of I am very grateful since having a high standard of excellence is part of my Christian witness there.

Sunday, I taught the lesson to the high school and middle school class at church. I felt it went well. I would liked to have sensed a stronger presence of God's spirit; but I had spent a lot of time preparing and praying over the lesson. As always I remember teaching the lessons are a faith ministry-you don't see fruit right away, if at all, but the working of the spirit of God is unseen in people's hearts.

I had a wonderful hour and half talk with my aunt on the phone Sunday night. I had not spoken to her in too long a time, it is my fault. I rejoiced to fellowship with her in the Lord, and find her deep faith is an example to me. For many years I sensed I had the benefit of being prayed for by some one and when she and I spoke I clearly realized her prayers for me have been the instrument of the blessings I have known all these years. I am so thankful for those prayers. I hope I may be faithful to pray for others.

Carolyn took Maddy to Miss Glady for a haircut on Saturday it was beautiful, and Joey got a haircut too. He had his curly hair straightened and looked like a rock star. As always these straighting treatments don't last on him. His hair is too curly - we know where he gets it.
